Manchester City were found guilty of 114 charges by an independent commission on the 25th September, the Premier League announced this on the 29th. Manchester City lodged an appeal on this decision on the 1st of October.

It is believed that Man City falsely reported close to £1bn as Sponsorship, Media deals and Rights agreements when really it came straight from Middle Eastern owner Sheikh Mansour’s pocket. Mansour is believed to have a net worth of approximately $30bn.

We believe that what Manchester City did was a disgusting act of clear cheating and fraud. DawgHouseNews’ stance in this situation is clear. Man City should be relegated and forced to be sold.

The club have cheated their way to gain 8 trophies in the timeframe of their financial cheating. Currently, fans are waiting for a punishment to be announce and meanwhile City are winning games, getting points and are in the lead of the league from these illegally gained players.

We do not doubt that City have the highest quality players, the issue is how these players are obtained. If the precedent is set that government officials of hyper-rich countries can buy out a club and continuously spend money on the best players in the world then football would no longer remain in the hands of the fans.

In summary, we believe the only viable punishment would be an expulsion out of the Premier League, a transfer ban and a forceful sale of the club so that other people understand, this behaviour has no place in football.
